What’s Your Pandemic Project?

Updated: Mar 8, 2023

Stay inside for a couple of weeks - no problem! I have lots to do. I’ve been living in my home for over 30 years and could have a project every day for a year. I have crap everywhere - in the attic and basement, kids’ old closets, drawers - you name it!

And now that we're into week 3, have I started any of them? No...

What’s my excuse? I don’t really have one.... I wasn’t in the mood? I was writing? I had an online canasta game? I hurt my back? No silly, you didn’t hurt your back till 4 days ago. Oh yea...

Strange, how those projects seem to have a sense of belonging in my home - an inertial claim of sorts. My junk has survival skills that rival the virus! Over the last 30 years, this crap has spent more hours in this house than anyone who's lived here. The kids have come and gone and I was at work most of the time or out having fun. And the crap has kept guard all the while.

Our junk has been here defining this home, laying claim to the territory - isn’t possession 9/10th of the law? It’s somewhat intimidating to face it all head on when all it's been doing is laying low and collecting dust - so harmless - so innocent that I feel like a bully forcing it all out of my way,
